Our most popular trip options are listed below, but we are happy to work with you to provide a trip which best suits your requirements. eg: you may wish to spend all your freedom hire in the centre of the park. If so just indicate your wish in the details box on the, Freedom Hire, booking form.
Freedom Hire
Old MacDonalds Farm office for bookings and payments open at 8:00am every day. Payments and camp bookings to be done prior to the briefing starting at 9:00am.
Multi day people start packing 8:30am.
At 9:00am you will be brought round to the base (50m from the office) where you will be introduced to your kayak and how to pack it and put on all warm neoprene tops/booties that are supplied.
For the next half hour you will be taken through an intensive training session that we call a briefing. After filling in a form its off to the beach for launch with 10-15 minutes more complimentary training/testing before setting off on your day or days journey. The day will finish at 4:30pm with a pick up at the beach.
Minimum age 14 years, under 18must be accompanied by an adult (1 – 1 ratio)

Kayak & Walk
Kayak into the start of the Abel Tasman National Park, (Briefing at 9:00am). Walk back from Watering Cove to Marahau, approx 2 hours kayaking. Return walk approx 3 hours, (unguided) (Kayak retrieval with ‘Aqua Taxi’). Return approx 4:30pm. Complimentary tea, coffee, juice, cake and biscuits. 3 hours Kayaking

Full Day Guided Tour
We explore the southern end of the park learning some of it’s history, stopping at Watering Cove and a short 20 minute walk to one of the most beautiful views the Abel Tasman has to offer. Briefing 9:00am, returns 4:30pm. Complimentary tea, coffee, juice, cake and biscuits. Add $10.00 for catered lunch. (Must be booked the night before trip). 4 hours Kayaking

Bark Bay and Back
Meet at Old Macdonalds Farm Holiday Park office 8:15 Catch the 9:00am Aqua Taxi to Bark bay your guide will Start with kayak briefing then its on the water and get the best trip that the tides and wind will offer. Trip highlights include various estuaries and caves, especially Falls River where you will experience untouched native bush the way New Zealand used to be. Including paddle up to the famous Falls River swing bridge, then after that the beautiful picturesque Te Pukatea bay for lunch,then a short walk. After lunch we head south visiting the beautiful golden sand beaches of the Astrolabe, and possibly catching the sea breeze back to Marahau. Finishing at 4:30pm

Middle Coast Magic
High Tide Highlights
Starting in the heart of the Abel Tasman Maine Reserve. Follow the rugged coast north through crystal clear waters, to Shag Harbour, possibly seeing seals and a part of middle earth, making use of the wind, where possible. Take a break on the golden sands, refuel with the complimentary coffee, cake and cookies. Continue your journey entering into the numerous estuaries on the way, or take the wind to the calm bay of the Anchorage and either carry on your journey on foot or take the Aqua Taxi back to Marahau.
Low Tide Highlights
Meet at Old Macdonalds Farm Holiday Park office 8:15 Catch the 9:00am Aqua Taxi to Onetahuti, cruising along beautiful granite coastline and maybe catching a seal basking on a rock before landing on one of the magic beaches that abound. After that do a bit of kayak sailing (wind dependent) to the awesome, and much photographed, Te Pukatea for the Pitthead walk. Then finish off by paddling around the corner at Adele Island ending the day at Watering Cove for your taxi ride back to Marahau.

Middle Half Blast
Meet at Old Macdonalds Farm Holiday Park office 8:15 Catch the 9:00am Aqua Taxi to Bark Bay then paddle along the coast visiting world renowned estuaries (tide depending) such as Falls River Bay and Torrent Bay. Then stop to fuel up with some tea, coffee, cake, biscuits and a relaxing walk to Te Pukatea. Catch the sea breeze to the seal colony at Adele Island, finishing at Watering Cove.

Retrieval Options
For those who opt to go one way and have your kayak retrieved from any of the four retrieval spots (Watering Cove, Anchorage, Bark Bay or Onetahuti) your pick up will be between 3-4:00pm depending on location and time of year.
